THE BEST WEEK OF SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!
KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo kicks off Saturday with the Grand Parade and Demolition Derby.
The Fair officially opens at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 and runs through until midnight Sat., Aug. 28.
You’ll find all your favorites at the Fair as well as some fun new attractions like axe throwing and pig racing. Street corn and loaded baked potatoes are new Fair food offerings this year.
The Yakima Federal Savings and Loan Concert Series line-up features Trace Adkins, Nelly, Seether, Foghat and Plain White T’s on the Peak Mortgage Stage. The Horse Heaven Round-Up, the #23 ranked rodeo in the PRCA, launches the first of five performances on Tuesday night in the Lithia RAM Arena.
Exhibitors have tended their animals all year and will showcase them during Fair week. From pocket pets to horses to pigs, these young people have worked hard and learned valuable lessons they are ready to share with fair-goers.
In the buildings, kids and adults will display their artwork and creations, food and crops, photos and poems, and other crafts and handiworks.
Strolling entertainers, hypnotists and magicians, singers and dancers and other local talents will take to the Legends Casino Stage throughout the week.
Nonprofit groups will be at the Fair to raise money by selling tickets, ice cream and elephant ears, and driving courtesy shuttles and trams. Those proceeds will help support youth activities, scholarships, and other causes in the community year-round.
The Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo had an $18.5 million economic output in Benton County in 2019. It takes more than 500 volunteers to produce the annual event.
Organizers can’t wait to welcome the community back to the Best Week of Summer and are committed to the health and safety of attendees. Please check https://www.bentonfranklinfair.com/p/info/knowbeforeyougo for updates.
