Ashley Brinkley 
Ashley Brinkley is an 18-year-old who has lived in Kennewick her whole life. She has been attending the Benton-Franklin Fair & Rodeo since she could walk! At age 10, she began showing her own horses at the fair. This summer has been spent preparing to move to Bozeman, Montana, for college! Ashley recently graduated from Southridge High School and Columbia Basin College with her high ‘school diploma and Associates in Arts degree. Now, she is studying animal sciences at Montana State University and hopes to graduate with the class of 2020. After college, Ashley plans on working with non-ruminant and ruminant animals, focusing on nutrition. Ashley was a grateful recipient of the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo scholarship, which will really help her out financially at school. Although Ashley cannot be here to celebrate our fair and rodeo, she hopes all her dear
friends and family have the time of their lives at the best week of summer!

McCall Lovejoy, Tri-Cities Prep

McCall Lovejoy 
McCall Lovejoy, of Eltopia, is a 2018 Graduate of Tri-Cities Prep. She has been participating in the Benton Franklin Fair since she was 6 years old, beginning in the open class beef barn with heifers, and later continuing with 4-H Beef. She has come a long way at the Benton-Franklin Fair, having championships in Market, Fitting and Showing, as well as the Round Robin. Through 4-H, McCall was Footloose 4-H Club President for four years as well as an active mentor for the younger kids. Through high school she was active in Science Olympiad, Vice-President of National Honors Society Chapter, and school sports. Outside of school, she works on her family farm in Eltopia and shows cattle all summer. In the fall, McCall will be attending Oklahoma State University to study Agribusiness.

Rylee Garland, River View High School

Rylee Garland 
Rylee Garland, 17, recently graduated from River View High School. She has been competing in rodeo since she was 3 years old. Rylee was involved with Washington State Jr. High Rodeo and Washington State High School Rodeo Association for seven years and is a 3x qualifier for the National High School Finals Rodeo. Through WSHSRA, Rylee was awarded Top Hand, Put Your Best Foot Forward, National High School Rodeo Association Spirit Buckle twice, and served as the 2017-2018 WSHSRA Student Secretary. She played basketball throughout high school and was awarded Scholar Student Award twice for having the highest GPA on the varsity girls’ basketball team. Rylee is honored to receive the 2018 Horse Heaven Round-Up Scholarship and is very thankful for the opportunity to continue my education at a higher level. This fall, she will attend Treasure Valley Community College, participating on the rodeo team and studying Criminal Justice.
