Bull Fighters

Rowdy Barry

Rowdy Barry

As we mark many milestones this year, we’ll be saying goodbye to members of our rodeo family. Rowdy Barry first fought bulls at the rodeo here in 1990 subbing for another bullfighter, and became a permanent member of the team here in Kennewick in 1993. Rowdy has announced his retirement at the end of the 2018 rodeo season. He has been a great advocate for our rodeo and has been keeping cowboys safe here for 26 continuous years. For Rowdy, the work has always been about protecting the contestants from 2,000 pound bulls. He doesn’t wear makeup or dress in silly outfits. He is an athlete and he trains like one. His decades of success are due to his commitment and dedication. Rowdy will be greatly missed. We are lucky that Rowdy and his family call Kennewick home. We’re sure you’ll be seeing him around the arena in years to come in other roles. He’s a man of many talents and you can checkout his artwork at rowdybarry.com.??
Ryan Wilson

Ryan Wilson

Bullfighter Ryan Wilson has been working the arena since 2012, when he started at our Xtreme Bulls event. Ryan has carried the Kennewick rodeo logo on his jersey for the past several years. Ryan has decided to pursue other endeavors after the 2018 rodeo season and we wish him well.

Barrelman

JJ Harrison

JJ Harrison

One guy that’s not going anywhere is barrelman JJ Harrison. Always a crowd favorite, Walla Walla’s JJ Harrison is one of the top in the business. JJ was chosen as the WNFR barrelman in 2012 and was selected to be the barrelman at the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida, in 2017 and 2018, the second highest honor in the industry. JJ, a former school teacher, also helps out our rodeo outside of the arena, leading anti-bullying education programs in area schools.

Announcer

Roger Mooney

Roger Mooney

Also returning to the arena is announcer Roger Mooney. It would hardly feel like the Kennewick rodeo without Mooney’s booming voice. In his 22 years here, Mooney has seen the rodeo grow and evolve into one of the best in the nation. From Elijay, Georgia, Roger’s Southern-tinged voice brings an air of distinction to the rodeo. ?
