Banda Machos is a Mexican band originally from the state of Jalisco who have been together for over 33 years.The band sings a combination of banda, ranchera and cumbia.
Banda Machos is known for their unique costumes and for their influence in the 90’s music movement and correlating dance style of Quebradita.The Quebradita style of dance is still hugely popular and present at Banda performances.
Banda Machos has been dubbed, “la Reina de las Bandas” because of their early musical influence, their unique costumes and contributions to the Quebradita movement.
Banda Machos has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades to include: Best New Regional Mexican Artist, Banda Artist of the Year, several Grammy nods along with awards from Univision and Furia Musical.Francis Ford Coppola featured Banda Machos, “ZapaMambo” in his film, “My Family” garnering Banda Machos international recognition by the film industry.
Banda Machos has placed 10 albums and 14 singles on the Mexican Regional and Latin charts and have been dubbed a “Billboard staple”.
